PAREIDOLIA

Pareidolia (/pærᵻˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-doh-lee-ə) is a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus (an image or a sound) wherein the mind perceives a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists.

There is something about symmetrical images, the reflections of complexity that fascinate me. The gnarly structure of tree branches when reflected, and transformed into mirrored symmetrical images, always insinuate the same fanciful creatures that our reveries create when we observe clouds and other complex forms. This has been a big feature of my work. I have a series that I call Pareidolia.
